Work | Life Balance CoachHelping you go from busy to balanced.
Through my 20’s, 30’s, and most of my 40’s, I worked seven days a week, pretty much 52 weeks a year. The more I worked, the more inadequate I felt at home. The more inadequate I felt at home, the more I worked. I didn’t have hobbies. I didn’t feel like women my age. I wasn’t one to socialize with other moms, hang out at the park, or volunteer to be the classroom mom. Everything about raising a family and life outside of work felt awkward.
So, I worked. “I have to work” became an escape and excuse. I buried myself deep in projects, to-do’s, and new ventures. I didn’t know how to stop working. I didn’t know how to relax. By my mid 40’s, I was tired, mentally and physically. Work, which for so long had been my solace, no longer provided relief or comfort. I was stressed, not sleeping well, and began to resent work itself. So, I started asking what “normal” people do on weekends if they are not working? How can I work less to live more?
To find the answers, I hired a life coach.
Hiring a life coach was life-changing.
I developed habits and the mindset to create space and boundaries around work. I learned how to get things done in a much shorter period. I was working smarter, not harder, by organizing my thoughts, ideas, and to-do lists and planning each day. It wasn’t as simple as just managing my laundry list of tasks and responsibilities. But rather a holistic approach to managing my life, creating balance and space.
And now I have time. It’s like figuring out the secret to more hours in the day, more days in the week…
I have time to build business #5.
I have time to plan business #6.
I have time to help others along this journey.
I have time for family.
I have time to take care of myself.
I have time to travel.
I have time to play tennis ball with my dogs every day.
I have time to do nothing.
There is balance and it’s beautiful. There’s a saying the journey is the reward, and I understand what this means now. I became a certified life coach so that I could dive deep into this journey. And now I can share with you how to work less and live more. It’s possible, I promise.
